Down the Rabbit Hole: The Status of RHDV2 in Ohio & Beyond
A podcast featuring Dr. Susan Borders and Dr. Nicholas Jew.

With RHDV cases on the rise across the country, now is the time to get all rabbits in Central Ohio vaccinated against this emerging disease. RHDV is a highly contagious virus that can affect indoor/house rabbits as well as wild rabbits with a very high mortality rate (close to 100%). It can be spread via insects, clothing, shoes and is airborne. Symptoms often occur quickly ranging from fever, spontaneous bleeding and sudden death. Vaccination is safe and effective and is the best defense for all rabbits at this time.

What to expect:
Pets will be seen first come, first serve and will receive a brief exam at each clinic by an accredited veterinarian (Dr. Borders). No other medical concerns will be addressed at this time.
Feel free to contact Dr. Borders directly with any questions or concerns. Please check with your regular vet prior to attending if you have health concerns for your individual buns safety. The vaccine has been well tolerated with a low incidence of side effects. A booster will be required 21 days after the first dose, of the first vaccine. After the initial series, a single booster is recommended annually.
