Fall Bonfire
On October 13th, 2007, CHRS held it’s annual Fall bonfire with temperatures perfect for a campfire. The flames danced and crackled with merriment as we mingled together sharing stories...about life, bunnies, past bonfires and more. Some played the ever-popular “corn hole” game while others drank hot chocolate, roasted hotdogs and marshmallows, ate chili, or filled up on other wonderful goodies. Later in the evening, John Dean entertained us with the skillful art of fire juggling. It was amazing to watch as the flames twirled round and round and round as if they had a mind of their own (see picture below). Other activities to round out the evening included awarding of door prizes and raffled items. Eventually, the flames died down and whispered, “It is time to go.” As the last few people were getting into their cars, it was said they heard one more very quiet whisper, “... but we’ll be back next year, bigger and brighter!”
