The History of Room H Window Displays at Capital Area Humane Society

About two years ago Columbus House Rabbit Society member, Karen Winstead, volunteer and promoter of rabbits at the shelter, requested permission to put up a display in room H window for "Adopt a Shelter Rabbit Month." Up until this time, the window had been used for displaying information about cats. Her request was granted and our first display was posted! Several months later, the person in charge of the window displays moved and Karen took over this duty. Currently, CHRS volunteers decorate the window monthly with the focus on rabbits. Our goal through these displays is to help potential adopters realize the preciousness of rabbits. One volunteer who has done most of the window displays is Judy de Roche. Danielle Patterson coordinates the volunteers and puts up window displays as needed. A more recent volunteer (since December, 2006) is Eileen Vorst. Two other volunteers who have contributed themes/ideas are Julie Schram and Terri Cook. No matter what level of involvement, window H at CAHS could not be done without the help of volunteers. If you would like to get involved with this volunteer activity, whether to assist with themes/ideas, hand tape and/or other supplies to the person putting up the display, or to actually design and put up a window display, please contact Danielle Patterson at DPatterson@limitedbrands.com.

Following are pictures of some past displays.
